I wish my husband would say any of the above. He hasn't said how he would/will handle it. He is so busy he is hardly home or answers a phone so hard to catch. He will give them an answer if they ask- nonchalant is my guess, but my wish is for him to tell them to shove it. Im more upset because of a lifetime of indoctrination vs him. -

Thanks for all the advice. I am going to have him read this.
We haven't been to a meeting in 9 months.
Yes, the email mentioned sisters had seen him with a women... which if anyone knows him- they know she is a partner in the practice. Also, if you go to his website you can see all 5 practicing MD's. So- anyone in the community NON JW- would not think twice seeing them together. At a table set for 5-no less!
Why didn't the sisters come say hello? Instead of staying back and gossiping. Of course- they never point this out. This must be some dirty scandal!

Looking back we had been fading without even realizing it. Life happened...and we weren't regular. Then we woke up and have actively been fading for 9 months. The last 5 we have not responded to the very few phone calls from friends, and the last two months have not turned in time.
This week we have had two elders calling, three times this week, to come visit. Our CO visit isn't any time soon. One elder is my husbands friend from the past. The other is our service overseer. Last night my husband got an email from the elder who was his friend. They want to meet up because sisters, in another congregation saw him out to lunch with a women.
Well, it is one of his partners from his practice and they were waiting for the other 3 partners. It happens once a quarter and this time of year, for end of the year financials. He didn't see any JWs nor is it even on his radar. This also coincides with our fading, not keeping up with anyone, and not turning in time so they want to see what is going on.
My husband, who isn't a born in, thinks its just ridiculous and with his career has no time to deal with it. Of course I am pissed! My brain goes in circles with what I figure JWs are gossiping about. So, from here. What does my husband do? Say? I think he should totally ignore it and not give any explanation, nor answer his phone.

DOCS comment on the first page. "What will really hurt is if they leave their checkbooks at home"
Wow. DOC you must be a prophet! I wasn't awake two years ago. Look at the speculation and where the WTS is now.

Preach or Tithe- Publishers choice
by All for show inmy siblings and i have been talking about the money woes.
we have thrown around the idea for them to keep the preaching/pioneer arrangement to keep some busy.
to increase cash flow they can institute a new tithing arrangement.

I think many would rather have a 'fee' to release them from this field service burden. In our family/friend circle per older relatives---they all know service is a huge waste of time and resources. Once people can opt out without guilt, wow, what would really happen? one can dream. -

Fukitol, I know of this arrangement. I am thinking of a future move to cover lots of needs. Decrease in stats, cash flow, an disillusionment/burn out.
I would love to see who goes after careers with tithing vs who pioneers/slaves for free.

My siblings and I have been talking about the money woes. We have thrown around the idea for them to keep the preaching/pioneer arrangement to keep some busy. To increase cash flow they can institute a new tithing arrangement. Of course not under that name, since they are 'better' than christendom.
Heres a possibility. The GB will be so loving and sympathetic to the difficulty of the economy and those struggling. Bills, cost of living, getting a job, retaining a job and the like are now so difficult they have instituted 'New Light'
Preach/Pioneer as usual, these people tend to be low in funds and already don't donate much if, at all. Those working, with decent income and cash flow, aren't in the ministry as much or pioneering regularly because they are naughty and chasing the almighty dollar. Boom. They can tithe their money and still be good with God, just as good as a Pioneer. They will have any publisher count time for merely mentioning they are a JW, not eating birthday cake, not going to the xmas party, all these things will be counted as a witness and time witnessing. This will be the reason for decreases in magazine placement, RVs, and bible studies. Everyone wins.
Anythings possible right?

My first post
by thewalker inhi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

HI Walker,
There are people here with amazing advice and experience. When I first joined the forum over a year ago, I was so overwhelmed by what I was reading. Some of it, saying it was a cult, offended me. Steady yourself, there is no Rush, and hold on for one wild ride.
There is so much information. Give yourself a break when you feel overwhelmed and distraught. So many here are willing to listen and offer wonderful advice. Whatever you do, keep your feelings and what you learn to YOURSELF!!

Correlation decline JW numbers and JW broadcasting?
by Gorbatchov ini read some impressive figures here about the decline of the jw numbers in 2015.. could there be a correlation between this decline and the start of jw broadcasting?.
hence, that there would be an negative impact because the gb is standing so nearby, you can experience the idiot reasoning of their doctrines sitting in your own living room?.
the lett effect?

My mom refuses to watch the Broadcasts because it weakens her faith by what she 'sees and hears'. Her longtime friend was disquisted by the February/Morris Anti-Education rant. She said it shook her faith so bad she can't watch or hear any GB speak. (Not paying their own way in life and ridiculing those who have to provide for family was the turn off)
My dad watches every single one in disgust with his only JW friend. The friend openly mocks Lett as the most 'ridiculously, obnoxious, moron that existed' My Regular Pioneer Uber JW cousins were so enthusiastic about JW broadcasting and now NEVER mention watching it or going to the special viewing sessions after its month one release.
I haven't heard anymore criticism since my non attendance has become obvious and the happy happy happy charade has been put on.

The Thief of Always
by YinzerDad inprologue... .
a brief precursor about myself.
i've been lurking around for almost 2 years.

Yinzer-- I could be you. Similar age, college educated, and my husband always asks me what my passions are. What I want for the future. I have never known- we never had a future growing up. He says I handle everything like a task to be completed but have no joy. We have education, great kids, great marriage, and money to enjoy life. Why is that not enough? What is wrong with me? It's not that I want more, but I feel empty.
My husband, a non born in, converted for me during med school. Looking back, he says being a JW totally F*ed up his med/residency life. He can now see and understand- being a JW he never felt so dead, unenthusiastic, judgmental, and worthless in his life. Constantly hearing at meeting you are not good enough, all the judgement, man made rules, ridiculous 'study' articles... He feels he has his life back. He can be himself again. He has a zeal and practices different, his partners even have noticed a huge shift in the last 6 months. I am jealous he can 'go back' to who he is, but I don't know who 'i am'
